CIE Capacitors – The missing link for highly efficient power electronics
Capacitors seem to be old fashion electrical components. However, they are everywhere. You will find them in every mobile phone, TV, refrigerator, car, train or even in Photovoltaic and wind power plants.
The problem is that they are big, heavy, expensive, and can waste a lot of energy. SDU´s CIE capacitor group is working on solutions to reduce the size and weight by introducing new technologies like conducting polymers and nanomaterial-doped polymer dielectrics.
This exhibition/demontstrator shows recent developments of the CIE capacitor group.
